Tour Program 7 (6-days-5-nights)

Day 1

Arrival in Prague early in the morning (optional by aircraft, bus or train). Meeting and transfer to the hotel in Prague. Check-in.
Excursion to the Prague Castle and the Lesser Town. the Royal Palace (11th c), presently the residence of Czech presidents; St. Vitus Cathedral (14th c); Art gallery of the Prague Castle; St. George’s Convent and Basilica (10th c). Daliborka Tower (the town prison since 15th c.) and the Golden Lane (Zlata Ulochka). Walking through the Garden on Ramparts (Zahrada na Valech) we go out on the Hradchanska Square. Schwarzenberg Palace (1569) with the Museum of Military History. Tuscan Palace (1691), Sternberg Palace (17th c.). Passing to the Lesser Town Square via Nerudova Street. St. Nicholas Cathedral (1756), the Church of Our Lady of Victory (1613) where the world-famous Infant Jesus of Prague is kept. Lunch. Continuing the tour to the Square of the Knights of the Cross (Krizovnicke namesti) via Charles Bridge (14th c.), a symbol of Prague. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 2

Walking along the central boulevard of Prague, Wenceslas Square, towards the Powder Tower (Prasna brana) and the Municipal House (Obecni dum) from the historic building of the National Museum. Old Town Square with Gothic spires of the Týn Church (14-16th cc.) towering over the square and the statue of reformer Jan Hus, and the Astronomical Clock (15th c.) on the Old Town Hall. St. Nicholas Church (1732-1737). Jewish Quarter (Josefov): Old New Synagogue (13th c.), Pinkas Synagogue (15th c.), Meisel Synagogue (16th c.), Klaus Synagogue (17th c.), High Synagogue (16th c.), Ceremonial Hall (16th c.) and the Old Jewish cemetery. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 3

Arrival in Kutna Hora (14-16th cc.), a medieval town in central Bohemia, the second richest town due to its silver mines, a UNESCO Heritage Site since 1995. Gothic Cathedral St. Barbara (1388) and the Italian Court, formerly the royal mint. Stone Fountain of 15th century. The famous Sedlec Ossuary and the Cemetery Chapel. Lunch.

Arrival at the beautiful Sternberg Castle (Český Šternberk), the fort of the Counts of Sternberg, Bohemian nobility, since mid 13th century. Visiting the 15 richly furnished rooms: Knights Hall, the ornamented Chapel of St. Sebastian, the library, the dining room, the study of Jiři Sternberg with its illustrated family tree of 6 generations, the Hunting Chamber. The Sternberg print collection is absolutely unique with 545 copperplate engravings. An interesting collection is that of historical weapons. Return to Prague. Dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 4

Driving to the Gothic Castle of Carlstein (Karlštejn) (1348-1355), the depository of royal and imperial treasures, coronation jewels and archive documents. A tour of the apartments of the imperial family, the Church of Virgin Mary and the Holy Cross Chapel (1357). Lunch.

Driving to Konopiste, the last residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir of the Austro-Hungarian throne, whose assassination in Sarajevo triggered World War I. The bullet that killed him is now an exhibit at the castle's museum. Visiting the English Park and Rose Gardens, the historic collection of armory and the library. Return to Prague. Dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 5

Driving to the Dobrish (Dobříš) rococo chateau (16-17th cc) with French Gardens and English Park. Visiting the Mirror Hall, the library and the Neo-Renaissance dining hall. Driving to Příbram Svata Hora (Holy Mountain), the oldest and most revered pilgrimage shrine of Czechia, to see the Chapel of Svata Hora and the church of Assumption of Virgin Mary. Lunch.
Continuing the tour towards the Orlik Castle of 13th century, reconstructed in Pseudo-Gothic style at the end of 19th century. Visiting the Greater and Lesser Knight's Halls, Hunting Hall, Blue and Empire Saloons, Library, and the Gun Corridor. Return to Prague. Gala dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 6

Check-out of the hotel. Transfer to the airport (railway station, bus station, etc.). Departure.
